December mailing

I was thinking about this and how it is not a good idea to mail things in the month of December because of the Christmas/holiday rush. We are told over at my charity stitching group to hold off mailing our squares until after the holidays. I would hate for one of our precious RRs to go missing. November or January is better. What do you think? Plus it gives you a little more time with #4 when you are busy doing holiday related activities if we wait until January.

I hadn't thought December would be any issue - have found the postal service to be AOK. But November is good for me. January seems late... the three months between mailings is already too long for me :-)

I think with our stuff all being sent "signature required" (we ARE all doing this aren't we?) it should be fine. Otherwise, I have to agree with Carol that I'd rather mail it in November than in January. But I have a lot of charity stitching also due in that timeframe (I'd kind of signed up for things to work around a Dec. mailing date for the NRR).

I send to Annemarie using GPM (Global Priority Mail) which is what I thought was agreed upon... I don't think a signature is required, but I pay $9.50 and she gets it in 2-4 days. So far, that has worked out wonderfully well..... any packages going general air mail may be a problem though. The postal service will push them through faster when you pay more - LOL.

I think you missed the point-the amount of mail going out that time of year is far greater than any other time. If you are mailing within your own continent, it may not be so bad, but I know that my friend in Ireland didn't get her Christmas gift until the middle of January last year and I thought I sent it a certain way and they delivered it parcel. I think November would be better for me too.

Ahem... November you say? Well, as I already know what I will be stitching for Veronica, that might not be a problem. Okay. November it is!
