Sailing off to England soon...

Here is Rachael's RR. I had fun with it. I would have loved to fill in more of those 'white spots', but I ran out of time. Plus, I thought Rachael could add an animal or two as she is really good at stitching them over one. I hope you like part of the James Taylor song I added as I thought it fit my square. That took a few evenings to do. Do you like my blueberry bushes, apple tree, evergreen and weeping willow?

Su's RR has arrived!

Hi all,
I just wanted to let you know that Su's RR has arrived safely from New Hampshire. I had a quick look at it and then put it away very quickly. No offence, but I'm just brimming with ideas for Carol's RR, and I don't want my ideas for her RR and Su's to get mixed up. The stitching on all the pieces looks lovely, though, and the colours are so much brighter than I would have thought from looking at the pictures. Well, there goes my ideas for a muted-coloured Goode Huswife chart... Plenty of ideas left, though.

Veronicas RR

Well I think I have finished it, I don't think I will add anymore to it, and I am quite happy with it. The house is from LHN Daisy Lane cottage. The dog is mums retriever Bailey adapted from a DT design, the garden is full of Hollyhocks, marigolds, sweetpeas, stocks, daisies, delphiniums all by me. The pond is an adaption of a design by Elizabeth designs as is the fence and gate. I stitched the pond using the new DMC Variations thread. I will post it off over to Carol next week, I'll let you know which day Carol.


I have taken a photo of an overall view, but as you can see with our weather being so gray and wet its not turned out as well as the smaller one, so I will try and do another tomorrow.

Hi - Just wanted to announce that Su's RR was officially posted off to Annemarie by my DH this morning. He sent it via Global Priority Mail. Let's hope it arrives quickly!

Su's RR is leaving for The Netherlands!

Su got back to me about how she wants each block signed - basically, any way you want! OK, I went with my name, town, state and country :-) It is nice and dry (even a bit sunny) here today - at last! So, I cleaned off a little table on the porch, put down a towel and took a photo for Su and everyone else to see of how her whole RR piece looks now! OK, some of the empty squares are a little cut off, I wanted to focus in a little on the stitched work.... So, if I get a chance to do so today, this will go off to Annemarie today! Otherwise, Mike assures me it will be posted tomorrow (I will let Su and Annemarie know for sure which day - it all depends on when the insurance adjustor finally shows up to look at the damage to Mike's rim and tire that he did up in Maine last week! Argh)

Personally, I love how Su's RR looks so far! I hope everyone else enjoys it as much as I have!

(Ooops! I just noticed that you cannot see my signature on the block - that too was out of camera range LOL!)
You surely can barely make out the signature, but here is a pic that was not zoomed in and you can see where the signature is at least placed!

Getting there on Rachael's RR

This is part of my current project blog listing and since it has Rachael's in it, I am sharing it here too. The barn is almost finished and then I can complete the path, a few neat trees and some surprises. I'd like to put a verse or something in the border with my name as suggested by Rachael. The lettering may be small. ; )

Su's RR (almost) finished!

OK... heavy, heavy rains continue here in New England... there was really little else to do today but sit inside and finish Su's RR. Almost finished, that it! I still need to sign this. Su, what info do you want in my signature... name, location, date?? I know by your questionnaire that you want the signatures in the outer border... just let me know and I will finish this right up and post it off to Annemarie!

getting there

Here is my progress on Annemarie's neighborhood. I was making good progress, and I hope I will regain my momentum. This is a fun square to work on, and I love it that Annemarie has welcomed us to add our own 'wacky' signature. True to my love of birds, I've managed to squeeze in two (over one) from two of my favorite designers.

I have a blank spot in my memory, and can't check it on this new computer because I haven't yet backed up all my old files, though: Do we mail the projects on the 15th of this month, or on the 15th of next month?? I do have Rachael's address (and everyone else's) printed out ... but I'm drawing a total blank on the mail-by date.
